Friday March 10 was a busy day for all IC teachers as they gathered at the Ras Beirut campus. The main focus was to address the various sections of the joint NEASC/CIS Self Study Accreditation report. The day began with an explanation of the process and goals for the day by ERC Director Dr. Mahmud Shihab. He reminded everyone of the Opinion Survey which all teachers, administrators, and as many parents as possible should complete online. The Survey is integral to our response to the report in general.
Teachers then divided into their respective departments and disciplines to study and respond to Section B: Teaching and Learning. In all of the Self-Study workshops, committee members looked at the indicators for each of the standards in the section, came to a consensus, and then rated the indicators and standards. In addition, they brainstormed evidence to support their ratings. A major part of our Self Study has been started which will lead the way to completing the rest of this very important report.
