Dear members of our IC family,

Following the recommendations of the COVID committee, IC will start to switch its teaching and learning paradigm gradually from fully online to hybrid. Given the fact that both the physical environment and the number of students are different on the Ain Aar and Ras Beirut campuses, we will follow two slightly different implementation calendars for these two communities.

On the Ras Beirut Campus, the entire secondary school will start in hybrid on Monday, October 12th. The 9th grade/3eme classes will start on Monday, October 19th.

On the Ain Aar campus, the 9th grade/ 3eme classes will start in hybrid on Monday, October 12th.

Unless otherwise directed by the Ministry of Education, we will gradually switch the other classes to hybrid learning on the week of October 26th.

As a community whose members care for one another, it is our collective and individual responsibility to ensure as safe an environment as possible for our students, our teachers, our staff, and their respective families.

This can only happen when every member of our community is fully committed to respect the basic safety measures while at IC: always wear a mask on campus, respect social distancing, avoid contact with others -i.e. do not come closer than two meters away from anyone for more than 15 minutes, and disinfect your hands regularly during the day. Please refer to the guide posted on our website which describes in detail all the measures put in place at IC. Please, carefully read the specific guide sent by each school as well.

Ensuring the safety of each individual on campus is everyone's responsibility. Let us be there for one another and let us keep our fellow community members safe and healthy by behaving in a responsible way. This also means that every single one of us commits to continuing to follow basic barrier measures outside of the school. Thus, we should avoid close contact with others as defined above. Our teenagers and many of us have suffered from social isolation for the past months, nonetheless, we should at all cost avoid participating in indoor events and partaking in activities that are not compatible with respecting social distancing.

Finally, we will need to be nimble as we approach a new way of learning at IC. We will continuously assess the effectiveness of our practices by asking teachers, parents, and students for their feedback, and we will make modifications to our systems accordingly.

Smooth and ample communication between the school administration and all our community stakeholders will be paramount to the success of our learning community in facing these new challenges. Thank you in advance for being flexible and for supporting your school and its teachers!

As we have always done in the past, we, the IC family will successfully overcome the obstacles placed before us and will come out of this difficult situation as a better and stronger community of learners!
